I’m Jean-Baptiste Attié, a French engineer from Paris. I graduated in 2026 from École Centrale Méditerranée (Grande École), where I followed the Data Science and Decision-Making track. Before that, I spent three years in classes préparatoires (Mathematics & Physics) at Institution Sainte-Marie in Antony, which gave me a solid mathematical foundation and a taste for hard problems.
During my first year at Centrale, I worked as a research apprentice at the Institut de Mathématiques de Marseille (I2M), studying how neural networks approximate functions with steep gradients. In 2024, I spent six months as a Visiting Graduate Research Student at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, working on the convergence of solutions of the Fractional Porous Medium Equation with entropy methods: my first real immersion in fundamental research, in English, within an international team.
I then moved to industry. At Natixis, I automated a billing process for the Cash Management for Financial Institutions team, cutting processing time from 2 hours to 3 minutes. In 2025, I joined the French Army’s Grandes Écoles Partnership as an officer: training at Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan and at the Artillery School in Draguignan, then four months co-supervising a 30-soldier section at the 40th Artillery Regiment. It taught me field leadership, delegation, and how to keep a team moving under pressure. I completed my degree as a Data Scientist apprentice at Crédit Agricole Personal Finance & Mobility, building machine learning models to predict customer default and migrating large databases from SAS to Snowflake.
On the side, I founded Le Carnet de Prépa, a study notebook for prépa students that I designed, produced and sell online myself: 340+ sales and €9,000 in revenue in its first year. It grew out of an Instagram account where I share advice with around 8,500 prépa students.
What I enjoy most is owning a problem from design to execution and seeing a concrete result. I’m now looking for a role at the interface of technology and operations, where I can deploy, coordinate and deliver, in AI, defense tech or fast-growing tech companies.
Outside work, I box, train at the gym and hike. I spent ten years in the Scouts d’Europe, and I love travelling, most recently on an Interrail trip across Central Europe.
